?
General Information

I Overview of the School

Sapporo Elementary School is located in Ainosato which is northeast of the urban district of Sapporo City.? Sapporo has a population of 1.93 million people.? The school moved to Ainosato from the previous Moiwa campus in 1989.? We have an elementary school, a junior high school, and a university on the same campus that enables us to collaborate, cooperate, and research among the three schools easily.
The school has two classes in each 1st to 6th grades, and 3 classes for children with special needs.? The total number of pupils is 438 as of May 1st, 2013.
The pupils attend school from all over Sapporo.? About 90% of them use buses, subways, JR electric trains and city tramcars on their way to and from school.? It is a good opportunity to develop social skills through commuting a long way to school by public transportation, though it is sometimes a challenging task for children.

III Symbol Flower

Two pargolas of Fuji (Japanese wisteria), which is a long-time symbol of the school, are placed beside the main gate.? They were transplanted from the previous location at the time of school's relocation in 1989.? The beauty, modesty, dignity and resilience of the plant symbolize the characteristics we are aiming to develop in our pupils. ??
