【GEL Students’ Voices】 "Volunteer Work"

Volunteer WorkI went to Obihiro for the Asian Winter Games in February 2017 as a volunteer. I did three days volunteer work. On the first day, I was in the speed skating stadium and I was guiding the people to their seats. Some foreign people asked me questions in English, and I wished I could speak more fluently, but if felt good to help them. On the second day I was in a hotel where the athletes were staying, and I gave information about Obihiro to the athletes. On the last day, I helped skaters with the doping check. It’s called ‘chaperone’. I was nervous talking to skaters from so many countries, but it was a good experience.
